Aufmerksam und weltzugewandt

Being present and attentive in our communities, relationships and responsibilities, this is Pallotti’s wish for his companions: he calls it con attualità. Our contribution to the shaping of the world is to be current, as is our testimony. To contribute to aggiornamento, i.e. bringing Jesus’s message up-to-date, was the intention of the Second Vatican Council and is also ours.

This requires addressing and analyzing current issues and having an lively interest in the concerns of the society and culture in which we live. Paying attention to global relationships and recognizing contemporary needs also form part of a response in compassion and solidarity. Becoming food, drink and clothes for the poor, light for the blind and hearing to the deaf – this is how Pallotti put it.
